Analytical and Research Facilities

FLRC is a sub-group of Environmental Sciences in the School of Agriculture and Environment. The School maintains a modern, well-equipped analytical laboratory in support of the teaching, research and extension activity.

FLRC also has access to agricultural land (sheep and beef, dairy, deer, arable and fruit crops) maintained by Massey University where trials can be conducted on a wide variety of soil types that vary in soil fertility status. An extensive range of field equipment and agricultural machinery is available to facilitate meaningful experimentation. Also available are controlled glasshouses and growth cabinets.

In addition to the normal range of analytical and computer equipment found in a modern, well-equipped laboratory, research facilities include the following:

FLRC adheres to Total Quality Management Systems in the laboratories and is a member of the Australasian Soil and Plant Analysis Council (ASPAC).
Clients and visitors are welcome to meet with staff and view our facilities at the Turitea Campus,
